can i use software to control the fans on my msi gaming 5 and if so whats the best one to use

Spedfan is good, although it could be complicated for some tasks, let's say for all fans to ramp up along with the CPU fan

Speedfan would be your best bet. I personally don't like it, the interface is horrible and it's hard to understand.

Make sure the fan headers are PWM as well.

Another option is an internal fan controller with additional software, but that solution isn't for everyone.

You have only two options for software. MSI Command Center and SpeedFan. Command Center is alright if you are new to all this. Speedfan requires more playing around with settings, googleing guides and reading overall.
