PS4 VS ALIENWARE ALPHA

yeah but i don't know how much i should spend. I want to play games like gta v, witcher 3, ac unity, newer ac games, and just want to run new games that come out. I feel like if i go with ps4 i don't have to worry about if i can ru it. If i get a pc for 500 euro, i do.

A pc with a decent mid range GPU will run every game on the planet guaranteed

Something like this for example, should run every game just fine at medium settings or better 1080p

CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor  (€121.17 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Motherboard: ASRock H81M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (€46.83 @ Home of Hardware DE)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (€52.49 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (€55.12 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card  (€139.89 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Xigmatek Recon ATX Mid Tower Case  (€33.79 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (€49.90 @ Caseking)
Total: €499.19
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

GTA 5 running on those specs - easily getting over 30fps on High/Very high - knock a few settings down to get 60fps

also one reason it might get the ps4 is because if friends come over we can just play together. And my parents are divorced so i gotta take my gaming device with me. With a big atx case that won't work.

Dude just get a Xbox One, it's the most powerful console in the world thanks to DirectX 12 and power of the cloud.

Take a look at this totally legit 5K screenshot on my Xbox One:

Please don't get the alpha. You may try to build a mATX or miniITX build if you want and it won't be very expensive (i record a budget of 1000 dollars, or 650 if you want go cheap). But, if you are not bothered and want to play with your friends or play exclusives in the PS4, by all means get. But, hereby I give you a warning. If you are going to get your PS4 as your main gaming device it might not be the perfect solution.

The alpha is actually a pretty great deal. It is similar in value to a custom PC, and is better than anything its size. For more details, read this.

Can we take a guy serious that recommends a 960 instead of a AMD card in a 800$ build while I was able to fit a 980Ti in a 1000$ Micro-atx build?

I wasn't really recommending that build. I had to make sure that the build I made had every feature the alpha had, and I also couldn't make it slower in any way. I had to have an i7 or xeon for the CPU, and a motherboard with AC wifi. I also had to have a hard drive with 2tb of storage. That SSD is both tiny and slow, so I really wouldn't want it. I also had to get an mITX build, as the alpha was a tiny pc. On the other hand, your build is a full mid tower, which is 3.36x as large. So yes, I still do think my build was better for the intended use.

You didn't have to exactly copy the Alpha, if the Alpha had a shitty balanced setup then it isn't your fault.

At the price of one 960 you can get a used R9 290 WITH AFTERMARKET COOLER

Well actually I did in a way. I had to make the build equal or better in every way, or people would complain that the "ideal build" wasn't as good for them. Just because alienware PCs are made for gaming doesn't mean that that's their entire use. The xeon is also much better for games like starcraft FYI.

And? The case I used isn't made to support cards with a tdp like the 290, and it's definitely not made for cards like that with a non-blower cooler. I could have gotten a different case, but that one is cheap, small, and is actually pretty nice even without factoring in the price.

Wait what's going on. The alienware alpha goes on sale for 350$ and has basically a 750ti. It destroys anything near its price point
