Any Fire Emblem Players?

Just wondering are there any Fire Emblem players out there?  I know this is a tech forum and all but I was genuinely curious as I saw there were subforums for pretty much all gaming related things here.  My personal favorites in the series are Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn on the GCN/Wii respectively.  Most Fire Emblem games are done on handhelds though which is why I posted the topic under mobile.  Although most of the older games you can emulate on PC which is what I did to play FE6 Sword of Seals with a translation patch since it was a Japan only GBA game.

my favorite was fire emblem awakening, second would be radiant dawn

dawn is only second because it came out when i was 10-11 so it posed quite the challenge for me, I appreciate it far more now that I'm older and actually know what the hell im doing, but still leaves a sour taste in my mouth from time to type because I have war flashbacks

I know what you mean I was the same way with FE7 which was the first one localized out west on the GBA.  Radiant Dawn is definetely unforigiving and one of the harder ones out there particulary in the first part of the game where you have some pretty weak units bar Nolan and Sothe.  Edward is good too but can't take a hit and Micaiah is pretty shaky too although she can get free exp through sacrifice and has Thani as a saving grace.

I did thoroughly enjoy Awakening as well and the amount of sheer content it provided in the DLC and spotpass.  Streetpass is also hell of fun too.

  • 4 weeks later...

Radiant dawn is best fire emblem ever. I was (and continue to be) super pissed they moved off of real consoles and back to portables.

Also I am insanely proud to claim I have a complete on both radiant dawn and por on the highest difficulty without losing anyone. (Although I did fail to recruit one or two.)

Also both of them are unbelievably fun and comfortable to play on pc with dolphin using a keyboard.

I have played the others, but I don't actually own a 3ds or use portables other than my phone very often so I'm not as impressed with the others. Also if I may claim so, both por and rd are longer than the others.

I freaking love Awakening... sadly that's all I've really played through since my first was FEA.  I do have plans of acquiring the older games over the course of a few months, and I managed to get my hands on Shadow Dragon for the DS.  Case, booklet, and even the strategy guide.  Quite a bit different considering what it is, but still quite fun I have to admit.

Anyone hyped for Fates?

From what I played, Sacred Stones > Blazing Sword > Shadow Dragons >  Awakening.

Awakening started amazing but then becomes sooo easy and I was like hooked on a loop of nonsense grinding in order to get better and better chars (which was dissapointing due to easy missions). Also I didn't like that assist mechanic.

On the other hand, Sacred Stones had charming characters and fun classes with some endgame features like those towers (which Blazing Sword lacks)

Sadly I can't say I know.  I plan on collecting a few more of the old games either via virtual console, or buying em second hand where I can.  Hopefully I can buy em all without breaking my bank too badly.

Heh, I can relate to that.  I've been grinding gen 1 characters for the better part of 50 in game hours to get the skills I want, and find the skills I want passed down to the kids.  I've seen the Infinite Exp DLC more times than most people would likely tolerate, and yet I have no plans of quitting the game anytime soon.  Maybe my next play through will be on max difficulty.  Easy to bork with the leveling even on hard.

Out of curiosity.  Who did people marry in their play through of FE:A?

Oh dont even get me started on max difficulty, IT IS SO FRUSTRATING, I swear sometimes there is literally only one way to complete the map without losing anyone. i cant remember who i married everyone with i do remember it is SO worth marrying chrom with the dancer girl, LUCINA BECOMES A MONSTER. I cant remember all the names but i do remember some of the more important pair, Donnel and Nowi, gregor and cherche, and i cant remember who i married cordelia with, but those pairs with the right skills make the kid an absolute beast, when you are willing to put the time into it that is
