Is 4K ok?

Me and my dad are wondering what tv we should buy and we aren´t sure if 4k is worth it. Are there good enough reasons to justify it?

Yes it is. Just make sure TV you buy has hdmi 2.0, some of the cheap ones don't.

Netflix already does 4K, Youtube does 4K, other stuff will follow, there is new 4k blu-ray standard out.

What? Does Lithuania have Netflix? Nobody watches YouTube videos on a TV, nobody uses BluRay.

No. Why not? Why not? Lithuania doesn't have shit, but we aren't really the benchmark here are we. We don't even have 720p TV. That is why I don't have a TV, but if I were to buy one I would get 4k capable blu-ray too.

That is not enough you have to make sure that the HDMI interface supports your needed features.

Actually, it is prohibited to advertise a specific HDMI version in connection with a device or cable. .

Is Netflix 4K 60fps then? :o why does it matter if it has hdmi 2.0 in a non-gaming context?

Well you invest in a TV so better pay a little bit more to get all the features.
