Mixing and matching fans

Currently I'm using 2 120mm Cooler Master and an arctic F12 (all three as exhausts) with two more open slots for two intake fans which I've yet to buy (since I only have 4 headers on the motherboard, I'll have to buy a fan controller with the extra 2 fans).

 

Was looking at a twin pack of Corsair AF120 but then it hit me: should I mix and match fans? Will my temps be messed up?

 

Question is: should I invest in 5 of the same fans or am I fine with my current setup?

Since I'll be using a fan controller (NZXT Sentry 2) does it really matter, since it should be able to adjust speeds for optimal performance?

 

An AF120 twin pack is about $30, so I'd have to spend $90 on fans plus another $40 or so on the fan controller.

 

Planned setup is intakes on front and exhausts on back/upper panel in a Corsair Spec-01

Only time mixing fans may lead to issues is on a radiator, or a heatsink, as you dont want a slower fan hindering the better one. In a case, having mismatched fans should be fine, but just keep in mind that if some are much slower than the other you will have to take that into consideration when calculating weather its positive or negative air pressure.

You'll be fine. Like he said /\ if the speeds are way different they won't perform the same (duh) but you shouldn't have any problems. I don't have more than 2 of the same fan (10 fans total) and everything is quiet and cool
