Is mixing a 1300 mah and 1500 mah rechargeable batteries good?

I have this energizer battery charger (http://www.energizer.com/battery-chargers/nimh-pro-charger) and the two rechargeable energizer batteries I am using to recharge with that charger is a 1300 mah and 1500 mah...Will it cause any problems since the manual said that mixing different types of batteries may cause the battery charger to get hot or explode?

If they are the same voltage it shouldn't be a problem.

They all seem to have a 1.2 voltage

It depends on the charger.

I would recommend charging them one at the time, The charger will charge both of them equally, Most chargers will stop when the battery of the highest capacity is charged.

In short the small battery will get overcharged and might explode.

Both batteries are nimh AA and are energizer rechargeable and the charger supports that but they have a different mah

mah stands for Micro Amperage Hours, It is the capacity of them. The charger will try to overcharge the 1300mah one by about 25%.

the mah is the cell capacity of discharge. mixing can be done, but,

eventually, that pack will die prematurely as the smaller mah will discharge

completely before the higher rated mah battery. this can cause cell reversal

and eventually will damage the cell and/or the complete pack. if left unchecked

also can cause electronics damage (if cell reverses).

So its recommended not to put two batteries with different mah's correct?

correct. i raced radio-controlled 1/10 scale buggies and watched many a

mismatched battery pack blow-up, catch fire, or fizzle in the cars and on

the battery chargers. if you can avoid mismatching, then please do.

This is why I said get a second opinion because I was not sure if I was right with my minimal knowledge.

You should get yourself some Eneloops.

I'm looking for tips and advices not suggestions

My tip for you: Get some eneloops

My advice for you: Get some eneloops

My suggestion to you: Get some eneloops

You were worried about your rechargeable batteries exploding, so I'm like "hey, next time you buy any rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, Eneloops are awesome!"

Was just throwing it out there.

I didn't know what else to put out there since your charger will charge each battery independently and shut the charge off when it's done, if it's built to any kind of safety standard. All I could add to the table was... Eneloops, because they're amazing.

Well next time I would like a straight answer of whether mixing those two different mah batteries are good idea or not...So thanks for the suggestion but I would like an answer next time to my question

I have the same type of charger.
As long as you don't put both batteries on the SAME side, it will be fine. That charger charges 2x2 batteries, each side are separated.

@airdeano is correct. The smaller cell will be drained faster yet the larger one will still have juice. If you continue to use the pack the smaller cell will get very stressed and eventually fail, possibly catastrophically. I used to be in quite a dangerous hobby involving li-ion/lipo cells.

You should get yourself some Eneloops.

I'd buy a better charger which monitors each battery separately.

In this charger you can't even mix batteries with different charging states.
