having a password VS not having a password

having a password VS not having a password

i hate the fact that if you "ask how remove passwords" (from our own account)

the linux community gets all crazy (and they even start to insult you)

instead "help you" because you "obviously" are doing a "mistake" (and they have the right to choose for you)

soo... this poll come to my mind

and yes, we all know is insecure (obviously), but is our own right

if i have a new machine (with linux) and i want make it easy for the customer, is my choice

I'd prefer my password by bio so I don't have to remember 25 variation of the same password.

You're trolling right? Right!?

Not only do I use passwords I use Google two-factor authentication on all of my Linux boxes so it prompts for a password and a verification key.

To be fair, there are two passwords in Linux. The admin (sudo) password which should be there all times. You are using it to manual updates and installs most of the times anyway (as common user, not power user). Then there's account password which is used to log onto account and recover from sleep etc. That is like windows user password and for home use not needed.

If you are using Linux on laptop (or windows), I'd still recommend using user password as small protection.
