core 2 duo in my mac. Beats everything hands down. Soon to be pentium g3258 tho.

asking what other people have is not the right way to choose a cpu ^^ also, later this year we'll have different cpus from now. Come back when you're about to buy and ask what fits your needs :)

This is a bit of a difficult question. While on my daily driver I have an i7, I have Xeons in pretty much ever other computer I own. My recommendation is unlocked i7s when you want some fun and Xeons when you actually need to get some work done.

I could easily settle with a mid-range CPU from Intel.
