gtx 970 or used 780 ti?

Guest

Hi.   I am still pretty mad about the 970 lie.   (ik right).   I have the reference version and I paid $400 for it.   I want to upgrade to a 1600p monitor anyways and the 780 ti is a faster card.   It also has a wider memory bus.   Should I sell my 970?   I can get a 780 ti for $400 on ebay and it has warranty left.   How much money should I expect from selling?   I need you guy's opinion. Thanks.

so, you're ranting about 3.5GB + 500MB slower VRAM, and decided to get a 3GB card.

can i ask where your logic is?

The 780ti is only slightly faster.

Don't bother selling it.

The benchmarks that you saw for the 970 didn't lie, its the exact same performance as anyone else would get with the card.

I myself will be keeping my 970 and possibly even getting a 2nd one later down the road.

Overclock the 970 and keep it.

Go for 980/980 SLI, titan or wait for new nividia cards if ur not setisfied with an overclocked 970!

but wider memory bus.

That makes no difference because the 900 series cards use a compression algorithm that enables them to use all their memory without the bus being a bottleneck

As you can see the titan X only needs a 384 bit bus for 12GB of vram

256 bits is enough for 4GB for sure

It'd be best to SLI 970 or go for a 980. The difference between the 780 ti and 970 isn't worth it. Even if you come out completely even, you'll only see small gains in most games.

With promo code (temporary) this goes down to $521. Code: EVGAMAYDEALS3

Same card, but no promo code needed.
