Pentium G3258 Overclocking

While build a pc with this, in linus' build guide he overclocked it to 4.2-4.4GHZ with the stock cooler, is this actually safe and do you think cooling results would change if he used it for a longer time as I'm pretty sure he would have just used for a day or so.

Thanks in advance

as long as the processor doesnt thermal throttle to hell, theres no issue in overclocking on the stock cooler.

only deciding factor is temperatures, and im assuming the pentium does not let out as much heat as the bigger i7's, and since it has the same cooler, it will stay cool even when overclocked.

Thanks guys, I might not buy a water cooler or new heat sink. I guess I get to save some money

Just make sure you monitor your temps at idle and load.  If they're within tolerances for the CPU you should be fine.
