Christmas came early when Intel sent me TWO Xeon E5 2699 v3 Processors for our new rendering server. Once they arrived I giddily got to put one through its paces...

This would be awesome as a programmer and game dev, especially if it comes with some decent turbo boost clocks

I think they are keepers. I also think Intel consider this to be a part of their marketing budget more than anything else

I think Intel lets them keep it. Besides Intel don't sell the ones Linus has, they're ES samples. It says "Intel Confidential" instead of the model on it.

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list

I'll probably be the only one who even cares about this, but calling 1k USD CPU's "peasant" money sounds really condescending to me. The majority of your viewers don't get 9k USD worth of CPUs shipped for "review" Linus, we actually have to work for it. It's a lot of money for most people and I think that should be respected when you make videos like this professionally as a company, this is way too in your face in my opinion.

He's building a whole new server, there is no existing CPU technically.

I was half-joking, his description in the OP makes it clear that they get to keep them.  It was more of a "No way you get to keep those, I hate you" kind of thing.   :P

Maybe if Intel replaced the integrated graphics on the consumer grade cpus with cores, we would be having 8 core consumer grade cpus. I don't truly understand what direction intel is going with their integrated graphics, they are not strong enough to game on but are over powered for the job of web browsing.

And next up on Linus Tech Tips, the xeon phi co processor gets reviewed!

Yay, another video about a CPU nobody on this forum will buy! What exactly is the point of these kind of videos?

Why is SpongeBob the main character when Patrick is the star?

If that's the performance of one of them...I can't imagine what two of them in a system would be like O_O

Excited for the next video when you put them both together :D

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

These video's exist for those that want to buy it yet are on the line of deciding if it will benefit them over there current xeon's.
