FPS mouse?

Hey, I'm looking for a righthanded (preferably not ambidextrous) , narrow and edgy (not rounded like the DeathAdder) mouse with a good optical sensor. I need to be able to turn off acceleration and choose a low CPI (400) in the software. Any suggestions highly appreciated. It doesn't have to match these specifications perfectly but as much as possible!

steelseries rival or g402

g502 is heavy

The G502 isn't that heavy. The average weight of all the mice in my spreadsheet is 114.5g. The G502 weighs in at 121g. Hold a US quarter in your hand. 7g is just a tad heavier than one US quarter.

Perspective. The Corsair Vengeance M95 is 177g.

I rate anything weighting over 115ish grams heavy. 115g is a lot compared to the really light mice at around 60g. Half of what the g502 weights.

Logitech g502 or g402 are good choices! :) I have used both of them and they work well in fps games.

I play claw and I just couldn't get a nice grip. I need to be able to lift the mouse quickly as I play on a very low sensitivity. I had to press my ring finger, pinkie and thumb really hard together to get a grip, and even then I slipped. Although, I'm the only one who has problems with the mouse, nothing but good reviews everywhere else. I guess I'm just picky.

It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures if the SS Rival has a right side gradient tilt like the DeathAdder, which made it impossible for me to play claw. Does anyone have this mouse? How are the ergonomics? Is it hard to grip the right side? Or is it relatively edgy and slim?

The roccat kone pure military is my favorite right handed ergonomic mouse. It actually has a flat right side instead of a taper, so very easy to get a good grip for clawing. Very good 3310 sensor and great scroll wheel. At 90g not counting the cable, its one of the lightest mice with a high end modern sensor and most pro fps players typically prefer lighter mice. I've seen some critics say its too small, although i wear XL gloves and don't have a problem with the size. I imagine they prefer palm grip mice, which it is not. My main complaint with the mouse is the braided cables is a little stiff and a little short for where i have my tower in relation to my mouspad. If the cable was like 3 inches longer, i might still be using it. My favorite mouse, which i'm currently using is Logitech g303. It is right handed as it has no side buttons for left handed users, but the shape is essentially ambidextrous, so i assume you're not interested.

G502 is heavy compared to other popular fps mouses that are used for CS GO.

Zowie FK1 is like 87g

Rival is 105g

Deathadder Chroma/2013 is 105g

G402 is 108g

114 grams is a big difference in my opinion

The weight change of the G402 to my rival was a big difference for me. I could feel the 3 gram difference. Lighter mouse is always nicer for fps games. Especially in a game like CS GO, where the whole arm, hand, and wrist are working in combination. A heavy mouse could exhaust and make it hard for long period use.

I went from a Corsair M65, to a Sensei, to a Rival, and now a Zowie EC1 eVo and I love it. Amazing sensor AND it's extremely light. In the end it's all about your personal preference.

Now you're just being an ass.

I'm simply giving my opinion to him if he is a dedicated fps player.

I'm not saying the G502 is a bad mouse. I'm just saying that the mouse is heavy as fuck compared to other competition.

There is a reason why Cloud 9 players probably prefer a lighter mouse compared to the g502. Regardless of the g502's great almighty pix art 3366 sensor. The AM010+ fusion engine is just as efficient as doing the 3366 job at fps games. (Low DPI anyways)

lighter simply handles better. Its really that simple, just like sport cars, you are able to accelerate and change directions and stop better with a lighter mouse. Despite using the g502 for over a month, i immediately scored better in aiming tests with the roccat pyra after only using it for a couple minutes, despite the pyra having an inferior sensor, simply because the pyra is so much lighter then the g502. And i'm much stronger then average, with new shirts, i stretch out the arms. There are things at my work, that i am literally the only person strong enough to do.

Sorry but that is incorrect. The Apex 302 uses a different sensor than the G502.

The G303 however uses the same sensor as the G502.

yeah, the g303 is a really nice mouse. A lot of people criticize it because it doesn't have many bells and whistles for its price tag, but if you're just looking for the best fps mouse and don't mind the g303's shape, i can't think of a mouse that better qualifies. The cable is very heavy duty and flexible. One of the lightest high end mice on the market. Shape that works well for claw grip. The best sensor on the market. The spring tensioning system on the lmb and rmb makes the g302 and g303 have the best lmb and rmb clicks on the market. While i haven't seen buttons response times tested for the g303, Logitech is the most consistent at having very good button response time http://utmalesoldiers.blogspot.tw/search/label/Mouse.  Plus we know from people that have visited their office that they have a machine to test button response time, so its unlikely a new mouse is going to have significantly worse response time.

Maybe the Zowie ZA series, which is quite light, comes in 3 sizes, has the most beloved cable of fps players, a unique lmb and rmb click feel that a lot of FPS players like. Basically the best sensor other the the 3366 in the g502 and g303, which is unlikely to matter. The only problems are the lack of software means the dpi options are more limited then most mice and some mice models by zowie have button latency issues, and some don't, i haven't seen which category the za series falls in yet. I would get it, but i recently spent 1k on custom IEMs and i gave my two weeks in current job, think i have another job lined up, but am going to wait until i start working new job, see how my income is affected before i do more frivolous purchases.

but both have an ambidextrous shape which OP doesn't want.

The Mionix Caster could be released at any time and should be a light weight right handed mouse. But it isn't out yet, so i have no idea what its like.

Yeah, my bad. I don't have the mouse (I play at higher sens, so G502 is better for me) so I mixed the numbers.

You're both incorrect: there is no such product called the 'Apex 302'.

It's G302 Daedalus Prime or G303 Daedalus Apex. The former uses a different sensor, the latter uses the same PixArt 3366 sensor as the G502.
