Chromecast: Would you reccomend it?

I've been looking at some of the things a Chromecast can do and it looks pretty neat. But would you guys reccomend buying one? I have a phone (or two) and a Chromebook, so I have the devices. An I have a free HDMI port.

I've been trying to justify it, but it's like $35, I'm planning to pick one up just for the one time I might use it to stream from my Nexus 6.

I've got one too, however I've never taken it out of the box.

I use mine for watching Twitch, Netflix, YouTube, and listening to the radio when going around the house

depends on what you want it for. frankly I wont get a google device of that nature or a amazon device of that nature because they dont play well together as companies.....However! they both play nice with Roku if its entertainment you want.

I have one...but I rarely use it....but my younger cousin love using it to stream youtube video and cartoon and stuff

 

So yea if you plan on using it often, but no...but it is only 35 dollar..

Definitely. I use it just about everyday, and at the $35 ($40 CAD) price, it's very affordable and useful.

It's amazing given that is such a simple device. Do keep this in mind though, the device does not work independently. It requires the use of a smartphone or chrome browser.

I have deployed them in my home and in a educational facility due to screen sharing for Powerpoints however at the moment the windows screen sharing is still in beta and its buggy so we're using it in a limited fashion however the features will be out of beta soon in which I will be willing to recommend it for anything.

I'll say its definitely worth the purchase. I have one at home and it's great if you want to mirror your Android phone onto the TV or just all gather around and watch Netflix.

Although I've not used mine as much as I would like, I would definitely recommend getting it. The ability to cast your screen on android lollipop is also really useful if an application does not support chromecast, as that way you can still watch it.
