GTA V GPU Usage Problem

LatinoPotato

So I was playing GTA V and I had my MSI afterburner open and was noticing that my GPU usage was going all over the place between 70-99% which isn't really consistent. I tried playing different games to see if it was my GPU, but I was getting a solid 95-99% usage on a game like BF4. So I'm wondering if it's the game, my drivers, or my system?

Most likely just the game. As long as it isn't affecting performance you're fine.

By the way, just wondering, what are your GPU temps in game?

But it is effecting my performance lowering my frames significantly

I would highly suggest as much as I hate to say it, setting all your graphic settings to default UNTIL the game is properly optimized. Me and Lolzious both had a similar issue and it help dramatically even though some of the settings it changed didn't make sense/it raised them from normal to high in some cases. Try it and get back to us.

Could be a case of thermal throttling. Try what @kilotekpc suggested though

I found that enabling either FXAA or MSAA x2 kept my frames higher and GPU usage @95-99%. Otherwise, GPU usage would fluctuate between 50-90% resulting in lower frames.

That can easaily bottleneck with some settings.
