Dell P2416D - Dell's first "P" series monitor with a WQHD resolution

snowComet

A new Dell monitor, called P2416D, was found on some of Dell’s regional websites. It is the first P series monitor from Dell featuring a 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution. It has a 23.8" AHVA panel from AU Optronics ( M238DAN01.0 ), housed in the same chassis as the P2415Q (according to pcmonitors.info's article). Since it is a P ( "Professional" ) Series monitor, it has less features than the high-end Ultrasharp series monitor U2515H, and it is slightly cheaper than that.

The P2416D it has a list price of HKD $2,999 and CNY $2,799 on Dell's Hong Kong and China sites, which is around $386 and $450, and it is slightly cheaper than the U2515H, which has a list price of HKD $3,589 and CNY $4,559 respectively, which is around $462 and $515.

I have yet to find the street price of this monitor in Hong Kong. Also pricing in Hong Kong and China doesn't reflect pricing in the States, or in other countries.

There is also a 4K 24 inch from Dell, the P2415Q:

If Dell were to adapt freesync or Gsync in to their monitors--I'd jump on it so quickly.  You just can't  beat the beauty of Dell's monitors, nor their stands *_*

yes but this one is tack sharp and feasibly usable without display scaling if you sit close.

4k is just a bit too much for anything under 32 inch I think and really belongs at 40 inches and up

:D Finally! I have two 24 inch displays, and I've been looking for a 1440p middle one for a triple setup. Still too broke to get it, but at least the option is there.

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

I really wish the u2515h had Freesync or G-sync.  But damn are they near perfect otherwise.

For starters it's not a gaming monitor anyway and for casual gaming you would prefer using that display than some overpriced 1080p display for gaming.

Benq also has a WQHD 23.8 inch monitor...

It's a hard sell for me a 60hz.

I find this product genuinely exciting, but, as an owner of a Dell U2515H, I have no regrets. Mostly because the bezels on this monitor are too large for my taste. I still consider the U2515H the best (non-UltraWide) WQHD monitor on the market, but this is a good addition to the Dell family.

Initially I was going to go all out and buy Crossfire 390X's upon launch if I was to get a 4K display, or get a second 280X if I end up going 1440p.

I think at that point it may not be worth it to go 4k unless buying two 390x's isn't a big deal to you. In your situation (US currency) it'd cost like $550 to max out 1440p with this monitor, or roughly $2000 to max out 4k with the P2715Q with 390x's.
