What kind of keyboard is really needed for gaming

Im wondering what kind of keyboard is really needed for games like MOBA's or RPG's. Is mechanical necessary? or is it just great to have? With only a limited amount of funds around €20, what kind of keyboard should I be looking for?

Been playing on a laptop for 6 years, I play Dota 2 with 10fps. Some might say this is impossible, I say its just annoying

Mechanical isn't necessary, and also impossible for 20 euros. Membrane is okay, but I find mechanical much more enjoyable to game and type on.

If have the money for a mechanical it great but if you want to just play go for Microsoft keyboard it cheap and fit your budget. Mechanical is mostly around 100 dollar mark but this may varies on your location.

How about a keyboard that I found in my attic, you know the white ones you see in videos from the 90s

Well try plug it in and try if it works and you can play your games on it? for you MOBA games you just need your QWERT keys rights? :D But if it cleans and function go ahead but i would personally it all up to you and how comfortable you are with that keyboard.

some older keyboards actually have lesser input lag. It's because of the tec they used to use. But it's quite expensive compared to membrane and mechanical

If it's ps2 it should have a lower latency than most usb keyboards, the feel of the keyboard itself is just personal preference. Most moba/rpg gamers like heavier keys so they can't be pressed accidentally.

You don't really need one, I did just fine with a HP chiclet keyboard.

Definitely not "necessary".  It's unlikely to make you a better player of the video games :P

I personally would just find a used keyboard at Goodwill or something and save up for a mechanical keyboard later.

Just grab what feels the best in the price range. You don't need anything fancy.
