No preorders! Bad!

If you're going to buy the game anyway why the hell not? The game comes with a ton of preorder bonuses and its mlb the show.

Until reviewers and other players get their hands on the game, you can never be 100% sure that it's worth the full $60. People thought games like Aliens: Colonial Marines and AC: Unity were going to be amazing because that's the illusion that their devs and publishers were trying to create, but on release, they were atrocious. Now, I'm not saying that MLB 15: The Show will necessarily turn out like this, but has the dev studio really done anything to earn your trust like that? Enough to risk the full release price of a game?

Encouraging the preorder of a game is sorta anti-consumer, which is why some gamers tend to discourage other gamers from doing it. When companies offer preorder bonuses, they're basically cutting content from the game to encourage the exchanging the money on blind faith. If companies continue to make lots of money on preorders, they'll keep doing it. Protecting yourself and sending a message to devs/publishers is why people tend to discourage preordering.

There are tons of videos and articles on the internet discussing why preordering can be a bad idea, and they phrase points far better than I can. But, in the end, the choice is ultimately yours.

The devs for mlb are very open to the community and always have been. They regularly post on forums and every year take user feedback. So yes I have a lot of faith in the developers. Same with the nba 2k developers (most of which were previously diehard fans 2k hired).

I've seen many anti preordering videos on youtube from the likes of total biscuit and boogie but honestly if I'm going to buy the game day one anyway I want those preorder goodies.
