Hardocp just heard back from Mark Friga, the owner of FrozenCPU.com, a long time enthusiast community supplier, and he explained to hardocp that FrozenCPU is in fact not going out of business as rumored earlier today. He said that FrozenCPU is currently running a skeleton crew and to please bare with his company while the it is ramping back up to 100% employee capacity.

Still fishy as fuck, that this happened, I don't trust that man. Frozen CPU won't get any business from me anymore.

Think about it, why was there orders that were never shipped, or even processed failed RMA deliverys because its been closed. Something doesn't feel right about this not one single bit.

I recently built the water cooled PC in my signature. My initial shipment from them was all correct but instead of the dual 140mm rad it was the single 140 version from Alphacool, same thickness. I reported this to them and I had to pay shipping and got refunded (store credit) for the price of the single rad, not the dual I paid for.

 

Their reviews are fantastic but I'm sad I had such a bad experience with them. I want them to do better.

If they need employees, I need an jerb...Totally up for putting systems together and or doing whatever else they need.

 

 

Seriously though, good news as Newegg just doesn't fucking cut it (or even come close) for water cooling supplies other than AIO's. All frozen CPU needs is more reviews on things. Most water cooling supplies that I have seen have at most 7 reviews on a product, and more often than not, no reviews

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

I never knew any of this was going on. This sucks. I sure hope they don't close their doors, or fuck their reputation. There's not a lot of places like frozen CPU. They usually suck, and have less selection.

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Ok, a  little digging through stuff posted by them, it seems to me that something went down, maybe some angry employees, and the whole staff got fired, and it may be that the ex-employees are throwing the owner under the bus. At least it seems that way to me.

Frozencpu has always been my favorite pc parts supplier. They have all the niche parts i need and super fast shipping. I hope theyre back up and running asap.

I really liked FrozenCPU in the past. They were always super reliable and I share Jay´s from JayzTwoCents opinion. When a retailer like that struggles or goes even out of business this is bad for all enthusiasts. I ordered at both ForzenCPU and Performance PCs and never had any issues from either.

It remains to be seen, if FrozenCPU can make a comeback and how they handle all open orders and RMAs. And based upon that, I will decide, if I order more from them or stick to Performance PC.

The way I heard things is the owner threw it under the bus by being a psycho (breaking stuff, throwing stuff around, flipping out on employees) and everyone bailed.

well now that I read the cached thread from OCN given to me and have seen all of the pictures, I'd agree. Sad.
