Help me choose a new phone (Android)

TNortham112

Hi, I can upgrade from my current phone (lumia 820) in about one month and am beginning to look at phone options.

The Phones I am currently considering are:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 4
  • HTC One M8
  • LG G Flex 2
  • LG G 3
  • ASUS Zenfone 2

Or do I wait for Phones which will be announced at MWC 2015, such as the HTC One M9, Samsung Galaxy S6, and the LG G4 as they could be released at the end of Q1 or Q2 2015

What's your budget?

I use a Note 3 and love it and I've had the chance to work with (take screenshots on for reviews) the Note 4. It's incredible.

Sig under construction.

Why not the Moto X 2nd Generation or the Nexus 6?

Nexus 6 is pretty massive. Many people don't like phablets; and it was hard getting used to (hi, I have a 5 and 6.) Moto X 2nd is outclassed by other phones with ease. Edit: Oh, OP listed Note 4... Nexus 6 then?

OP: Nexus 5 / LG G3 / HTC One M8 / 1+1 / Moto X 2014.

Note 4 no question

I'd agree with the Note 4 if it didn't run TouchWiz. :|

I'm not to fussed about TouchWiz, I have a samsung tablet and have got used to it. I could always use the Google Now launcher anyway

All of them are great.

Zenfone if you want to save

Moto x 2014 is a great phone, only lacks microsd

I would go bot 4 from those options

My brother and dad have a Note 4. Great phone, but TouchWiz is not my cup of tea, I'm sure you don't mind it. I'm a Stock Android phone so I recently ordered a Nexus 6. Moto X 2014 looks exceptional as well. Maybe wait out for Galaxy S6 or M9?

In my opinion, the best Android phone out right now is the Note 4 even with touchwiz, and when Lollipop comes it will be even better. I would suggest waiting though, if you can.

If you can't wait, then Note 4. But with MWC only a few weeks away, you already waited this long, you can wait a few more weeks before deciding. lol

The Zenfone 2 comes out next month as well.

If you want a cheap phone get the Zenfone 2 when it comes out, if not wait for the other big guys. It is the worst time to buy a phone right before new ones come out.

Thanks for everyones input and opinions!

Because my current contract doesn't end until mid-march I will be considering certain phones shown at MWC, such as the HTC One M9.
If I end up not going for any of the phones shown at MWC, my final choice will be between the Note 4 or Nexus 6

Wait for MWC and then decide what to buy. MWC is held March 1 to 3 and that's when everyone will announce their new flagship devices (Galaxy S 6 and HTC M9).

This is pretty much the worst time to buy a phone.

if u have no budget limit, and you have Note 4 on the list of phones under consideration, until the next Note comes, pretty much NOTHING beats Note 4!

its GORGEOUS, its battery life is EXCELLENT, Screen is, well, almost Perfect and over all usability is excellent!

my friend has S5 and after Lollipop, it NEVER LAGS! Lollipop is coming for Note 4 Soon so performance will be enhanced for sure.

i have Tab S 8.4, it does stutter, but very very negligible. and it has Note 3 specs, Note 4 is a beast.

i would go with Note 4

Out of the list you have given the Note 4 is what I would choose. Extremely solid phone all around and I would probably go as far to say it is still the best Android phone on the market. I do not know if multitasking is one of your needs out of the new phone you are looking for but the Note 4 kills it when it comes to that.

The HTC One M8 and the LG G3 are both still excellent phones but I would not put them in front of the Note 4.

If you would be willing to wait it out I would suggest waiting just a while longer until MWC to at least see what some of the new phones are going to offer.

Keep in mind if you don't like what you see at MWC and would prefer today's devices like M8, the price of them are going to go down, so best thing to do is wait until the event
