Best Games of 2014

chicksoup

Hello,

I'm currently looking for a few games to play in the next few weeks and since there has been so much bad press around most triple A releases I was wondering which game you really enjoyed of the past year that runs well, most of the time.

cheers

Risk of rain and teleglitch are really nice but again indie is in my heart and is a matter of tastes.Maybe tell us what kind of games you like

Dragon Age Inquisition (i'd advise you to play the previous games first, as this is the 3rd in the series)

Ryse Son Of Rome

Watchdogs (despite it being a bit of a poo console port, it runs reasonably well and is still a fun game)

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

For games released in 2014, my top 3 according to playtime would be Spintires, Banished, and Shovel Knight. :)

Alien Isolation is the only game that I have picked up that was released this year. So that.

I cant make a full decision as I haven't been up to date with games this year.

Honestly if it wasn't so horribly optimized/made by Ubisoft.

GTA V, have to say but its a guilty pleasure hope its done properly fro the PC.

At that point technically a 2015 game lol

It sucks with keyboard/gamepad. With a wheel it's perfectly fine. I have the G25 myself and the handling in the beta was great.

IMO not worth it to get a new DAC. Yeah it might match the Lyr but the Fiio is also pretty good. Is it getting power from your PC? I played around with a friend's D3 before and it sounded better off a (good quality) phone charger then my mobo, but that just might be that my mobo is very low end, so it might not affect you if you have a highr end one.

I'm thinking of getting a Schiit Fulla for my M40x's. My onboard audio is really nothing special.

Yeah, when the beta was on I had a Radeon HD 6870 that could max it out at 1080p, so pretty sure you goofed xD

I didn't like how nitrous was practically useless on RWD cars until you heavily upgraded the tires though.

Wolfenstein is pretty fun on high difficulty, Lethal league is a very fun game  to play when you're bored.

:P i was a noob then so had no idea how to troubleshoot performance. Evolve alpha had the same problem. So im more vigilant now towards betas/alphas.

It'll definitely be an improvement, I think I'll buy one then try it, and if I don't feel it's a big enough improvement I can return it to schiit, they only take a 5% return fee, then I could buy the g27.

Thing is, my onboard sounds almost identical to the d3+lyr combo, so I think the d3 may not be very good.

I think I may get an adapter and try to go from my headphone out into the Lyr and see if it improves, and if it does then I'll know the d3 is a bottleneck so to speak.
