Final Build. BE AS CRITICAL AS POSSIBLE

Hi there! I know this is my third post this week about my build, but the black Friday deals were just posted today. This is the build I plan on buying all the parts for tomorrow. I didn't expect the deals to be good, however it seemed a lot of the components I had my eye on ended up going on sale! :D  What do you guys think of this build? (I spent 3 months researching parts LOL :P ).

EDIT: I chose the ROG motherboard for ascetics, otherwise I would have chosen the Asus z97a.

How much Photoshop, and is it professional use of it or hobbiest.

if professional

stick with the i7, get a second WD blue and use raid

if hobby

go down to an i5, get raid if you want data security (not as important as above)

Don't bother with the LED controller for now. I would grab 16GB RAM and an IPS monitor (Especially for photoshop where color reproduction is important).

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

if you are just gaming and not doing heavy video rendering you can drop down to an i5 4690k and spend the money in a better cooler, specially since you have an overclocked oriented board but the cooler wont be able to handle anything beyond 4.2 or 4.4 ghz

other than that it looks good, with the money you save on the cpu if you step down to the i5 you can get something like a noctua d14

Dont buy an OCZ SSD

Also you should get a different motherboard unless you really want those features or aesthetics.

Looks awesome.

Only thing i thought of, was if you want you can drop the 212 and get a better CPU. Youd run quieter, colder, and would give you better ability to OC. But totally optional.

This makes me wish i waited a few more paychecks when i build my rig

Consider getting a decent AIO cpu cooler, this way it will keep cool while gaming and give you some overclock potential, slamming a hyper 212 evo on it seems like a bit of a waste of potential.

Consider getting a cheaper motherboard, It's a waste of money when you can get a good one for 3/5 of the price :)

Consider going for a Seasonic PSU with at least an 80-plus gold rating. Vent the money you take out of the motherboard to you PSU, you won't regret it.

Consider going for the new Define R5 instead of the R4? Really no reason not to honestly :)

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding the SSD, are there any problems with it? Tommorow only I can get the 240GB for $90, which is $110 off. I could also get the 120GB version for $50.

Thanks for the feedback, the Photoshop will be for Hobby use and school use (I'm not a professional). I just thought it would be more future-proof if I chose the i7 while it's $70 off. The i5 4690k is also on sale for $230 though.

I'm not a professional at Photoshop, it's only a hobby every once and a while, so I didn't feel 16GB was necessary (besides, I can always pop in 2 more sticks of RAM). I spent a long time deciding on a monitor, and decided to go to the store and look at them side by side. To my surprise the vg248qe had much better colors than I expected.

get a more reliable SSD and drop that motherboard asap, brings 0 performance increase. if you want a red/ black mobo this msi is a good deal with that promo code. otherwise the gigabyte ga-z97x-sli does the same thing for 130$

if you dont plan to SLI get a good 550w psu ,more than enough for your pc

step down to the i5 4690k if you dont use photoshop a lot

with the money saved just keep it in yor pocket or get a better cooler like the nh-d14 or dark rock 3 and a 2tb seagate barracuda

Thanks for the feedback. Does the SSD I chose have any particular problems with it? I could get an 840 Evo 120GB for $90 instead. I chose that motherboard purely for it's aesthetics, and it seems like a good price, since the MSI gaming 5 is only $15 less. I do plan on SLI thus the reason I chose 750W. I may end up getting an i5 4690k since it's also on sale for $230. For the CPU cooler, I think I will go for the Dark Rock Pro 3, even though it's $80.

Just high failure rates and lots of no boot problems with them.

a samsung 840 evo, intel 530 series, or crucial MX are all far better choices in terms of durability, reliability, and speed.

i would't get the 840, there is a FW issue with slow write speeds over time and it's possible that samsung's firmware fix will shorten the sad's life.

Also how much do you really care about 120fps+ gaming? IMO most people would be happier with a 60hz 27" 1440p panel.
