Future Intel CPUs

Ace Lean

The different "i's" is simply a way to split the CPU's into different performance-related segments. Intel will for now release i3 as their lowest end and i7 as their enthusiast line. An i9 wouldn't exist, such a powerful CPU would still be within the i7 product line. So no.

No. There are only 4 tiers, i3, i5, i7, and i7E.

With each new process they change the model number, for example from 4960x to 5960x.

They are not going to be adding more types of cores to the lineup any time soon.

It's funny because I looked up "i9" about a week ago. Apparently in 2011 only everyone thought there was going to be i9's  :P

Oddly enough. It was to be expected that there is no i9 but what the heck :)

Calling it I7E would be wrong i think, if i'm not mistaken it's just "Dash E class" or "Dash E" or something, to stand for haswell-e, etc

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
