melias24

Hey guys, i have a green nvidia/yellow msi mpower build, and the red heat fins on the G.skill ripjaws x ram (http://www.mwave.com.au/product/gskill-ripjawsx-8gb-2x-4gb-ddr3-1600mhz-desktop-memory-f312800cl9d8gbxl-aa65708?gclid=CjwKEAiAhcGjBRDot_fjjtPKrgsSJACNYh76-2AHpzQhRcrabB1mWDYvb7cIFeDXJ6BLMuIcE5-oNhoC7-rw_wcB) is really ruining the colour scheme, and i don't have enough money at the moment to buy yellow ram (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=28753&cPath=913&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=export_feed&gclid=CjwKEAiAhcGjBRDot_fjjtPKrgsSJACNYh76Rv_J-c7Yabb9j95G-EZBq-PTmuyS9WBW1dP56rN-uBoCRCrw_wcB#googlebase) So is it safe to paint the heat spreaders on the G.skill ram, and how do i take them off?
Thanks,

~Elias

I believe those are held on by thermal adhesive, all you need to do is warm it up a little with a hair dryer or heat gun on very low to soften up the adhesive and gently pry the heat sink and it should come apart in two pieces.
