After advice on a case and a PSU

Hi everyone,

Doing a new build as an xmas pressent to myself and i'm stuck on the case but also the psu.

Going to be overclocking it and the parts I currently have/will be ordering can be found here http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/Crj6yc

As i'm overclocking it I'm going down the water cooling way for the 1st time (also live in Australia and it's getting really warm now) hence the inclusion of the Cooler Master Nepton 280l.

So I'm after advice on a case and a PSU.

Case wise, I'm torn between a few which I'll list below (budget less than AU$200). PSU, haven't a clue. Was thinking a gold or platinum 650w.

Cooler Master HAF X,

Cooler Master HAF XB Evo

Cooler Master HAF XM

NZXT Phantom 630

NZXT H440

Corsair Air 540

Main purpiose of the rig wil be Flight Sim and most of my idea's I've pinched from this article (for reference) http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html

Any advice greatly appriciated. This is my 1st build away from ATI/AMD products in 10 years.

Just before the edit :3. Fast internet

Since it will get hot you do not really want the H440, it's for silence and not performance. If you want a great case for airflow look at the Corsair 450D, Arc Midi R2, Graphite 760T or similar cases.

As for your build it looks solid to me. If you want to potentially 2-way SLI in the future go with the EVGA G2 750W, otherwise go with the Corsair CS550M

450D would've been my choice for you probably. I say get one of them.

EDIT: for a PSU, the EVGA PSU here is what I suggest. You can also get a SeaSonic PSU which will always be a good choice across the board of stuff they make.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

The CS isn't a great PSU for the money tbh

@lfcvfddvredline if you're sticking with one 970, you'll be perfectly fine with the Antec Neo ECO 520W (rebranded Seasonic S12II). If you're planning to add a second one later on, then go with the EVGA 750G2.

It's not a bad PSU, it just could be a little better. The seasonic S12II beats it though yeah, go with what @Aniallation said

Wasn't thinking SLi as FSX doesn't handle multi card config's all that well.

Would 520w do especially with the overclock on the CPU? Should get it to 4.5-4.7 from what i've read.

Ok... it seem like we can't quote, ATM (?).

Anyways, while the soldering and fan could be better, the aforementioned CS550M that @Archangel1994 mentioned is actually better than the Seasonic S12II Bronze build Antec NEO Eco. It offer the similar capacitor choices (85C Japanese primary cap and 105C Teapo Secondary cap), but the CS is a gold rated unit with a DC-DC VRM that allows it to have better voltage stability at a much wider range of loads than the lower wattage, group-regulated S12II.

Nonetheless, since you are from Australia, Corsair products tend to be more inflated than their other competitors. A good example of this is the XFX XTR 650w @lee32uk had mentioned. It's $99.99 AUD, while the CS550M is $119.99. The XTR is a better PSU for a cheaper price. I too would recommend that.

Spec's are good on the Phanteks but just not my cup of tea. The 450D's ssd mounts look the business.
