real speeds vs VPN

Hi, for e.g let's say my speeds are 10Mb/down 10Mb/up .. and when I'm using a VPN also doing the speed test I got 15Mb/down and 15Mb/up .. does that mean my real speed has increased or ...?!

The blood on to your heart start pumping faster when you notice me.


But is ok.

It depends how you're measuring speed. If you are using a site like http://speedtest.net, than no, the shown speed would be the speed of the VPN server.

If you're doing something like downloading a file to your computer, and you see a higher speed, then yes, you do have a higher real speed.

What @Blade of Grass said is right. But as far as something like a remote access vpn your speed will drop for the most part because it uses cpu resources on your router/firewall whichever device you have the vpn set up on to encrypt the traffic from source to destination.
