Is it safe to pull out?

I'm of the view that, as long as nothing is being written to or read from a usb drive, it is perfectly safe to just pull it out of the pc, but people keep telling me that I need to first safely eject it by right-clicking that thing to the right of the taskbar. I call poppycock - what say you?

no just using the safely remove stuff doesn't work.

 

things you need.

 

-gloves

-gas mask

-full body suit

 

things to do

-shut down your pc.

-turn off the ups if you have any

-open side panel of chassis

-remove all the connectors and remove everything (make sure you remove everything).

-put all the parts in their rightful box.

-turn off the electricity at the box.

 

when all is done you can safely remove your USB flash drive.
