My humble rig :)

xnoobftw

Hey guys! Just wanted to share with you my rig (that took me nearly a year of hardcore saving money and working etc) Im just a student and i had to get straight A's for my parents to reward me with cash so here it is!

Specs are in the signature :)

post-121155-0-09399100-1413912833.png

I upgraded from a 660 to a 290x in a matter of half a year of getting the 660 (couldnt stand playing on medium settings for bf4 xD

g600w > EVGA g2 850 watts

2 sp 120 on top

stock exhaust fan at rear

212x for CPU cooler (YES 212s fits in corsair spec series cases! even tho the height doesnt match!)

1 stock red LED fan in the front

1 CM RED LED fan in the front too

My brother initially helped me with everything but he said it would had been better if i learnt everything on my own. Yes it was a mistake getting the h series mobo with this CPU but with this knowledge i am finally able to help people in terms of IT and of course i did came across this website and met you guys! Thank you all for teaching me invaluable lessons on hardware and software for computers and i hope you enjoyed this post :)

Anyway i can improve in terms of cable management or anywhere else etc? I am open to advice :)

Any room under the mobo tray to route your CPU power cable?

not a bad build, cable management isn't actually that bad you could use some zip ties (or whatever you call them) to tie them a bit together for a more "bundle" look.

but it doesn't look like the cables are in the way of any airflow, so don't bother really

like all cables and tubes same rule goes: do not "kink" it, you can give it a shot it shouldn't be hard to go around the back of the gpu

First, Congrats on your build and awesome job in school :D

In terms of cable management, I see a one really good way that you could do this.

  1. Spend 1-2 hours rewiring the complete inside, using the space behind the motherboard tray for all the clutter cables and use this space for the majority of the cables (their may be some exceptions but not many.)
  • Disconnect everything from the PSU
  • Push all the wires behind the motherboard tray (cpu power, PCI Express 6+2, ect)
  • Feed the cables through the cable management holes, like you did with the Motherboard 24pin
  • Reconnect/Rewire all cables to the mother board
  • For fan cables and internal I/O (power reset, usb, fan cables, ect) [below steps]
  • For the fans, you could rotate them so the cable has to go a shorter distance and hide the body of the wire around the fan housing (this is what I do)
  • For the internal I/O you can push the heads down a bit, allowing less of the cable to show.

Hopes this helps ya out man, you can PM anytime if you got questions :D

I've tried stuffing all the wires behind the motherboard (cable management area) and the case wouldn't close xD So i was kinda forced to do this
