Get the xeon with a 550W PSU then add the SSD later. Best solution hands down

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

@EzioSan, did you consider a Xeon with stock cooler and an ssd?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

why are you going with a Xeon?

if the price is comparable to an i7 counter part then go for it

i would personally go with a K version for overclocking

just ignore the SSd for now

@brob the cooler for the xeon is only 12€ ,i think its not reallay needed cause the cpu cant overclock, but i think intel stock coolers are very loud ones they reached a point..the ssd would be too expensive in my xeon build it costs 90€

@Archangel1994 all this build needs is 280-340W i used be quiet and cooler master calucaltor so i think a 450W psu is suitable?

@qwertywarrior here in germany the i7 4790k costs 295€, the xeon is only 211€, both come with stocked coolers...

Extra case fans, extra other devices, OC headroom It's a nice thing to have

They don't

If your not going to use ecc ram why are you getting a xeon?  Just get a i5 and you can drop the hdd for an ssd

Hyper-threading.

An i7 and a Xeon perform similarly, but the Xeon costs 90 EUR less and it is still nearly as powerful.

Why get a Xeon if all your going to do is game an i7 can take care of that?  (Ignore if you don't care about my reasoning) Now If you have red my profile the reason for getting a Xeon is because I use SFM, 3D modeling/mapping/texturing, and slight gaming on the side.

TL;DR

I am advising that you get a i7 because it's meant for gaming while a Xeon is meant for heavy rendering and multi-tasking.

(Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Because he had a hard drive.
