Folding doesn't like my gpu?

Ok so I literally just started folding 10mins ago, please forgive me if I sound like a complete idiot because I am.

 

So anyways, a quick glance at my task manager shows my cpu running at 100%, which I guess is normal because it's doing something.

 

But on msi afterburner, it shows my 7790 being lazy and not really doing much besides the random spiking?

 

Can someone explain???

never mind all of a sudden my 7790 started running at 100%, I have no idea why

Typically on a default install, the GPU only folds when your system is "idle" except if you move the slider to Full - this may be the issue. Also, someone times it can take a few minutes for the GPU to kick, as seems the case for you.
