How old can a game be for you to still be able to enjoy it?

-TesseracT-

How old can a game be on PC or console for you to legitimately enjoy playing it, nostalgic factors not included?

I can play only a few games released in the late 90's. I find that there aren't really that many games that interests me. Graphics are not really the problem.

It depends how well the graphics age in my opinion. For example, I still enjoy playing Total Annihilation a LOT and that came out in 1997 if I recall correctly. Graphics aren't bad either for such an old game.

This topic really depends on the person. I enjoy the shiny latest and greatest games, but at the same time, I kinda liked old games because it just brings a nostalgia type of thing back. Reminds you of the good ol' days y'know?

So, depends really on individual perspectives. I still play Lode Runner: Mad Monks Revenge, anyone remember that?

I still really, really enjoy Freelancer. It came out over a decade ago.

Which is one of the huge reasons why Star Citizen is such a huge draw to me.

I was born in 1998, I don't think I like any games which are older than me, with the exception of some arcade games. I think the oldest mainstream game I really enjoy is Halo: CE

I don't really think the age, or year of release to be the defining factor as to if i enjoy a game or not.

And lol @ people picking 1980+ and 1970+. Hipster wannabe much?

Bet the oldest console anyone here has used is the original Gameboy, or a Nintendo 64.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

Depends on the style, I dislike old FPS/action games, but stragery games are good and other such non-fastpace generes.

One of my favourite games, along with Heroes III and Age of Empires I & II. I spent many hours on a windows 95 computer playing those.

Depends on the game, but I find late 90's+ playable because of the nostalgic feeling.

I suppose it really depends how old you are.
