Doesn't look like 60fps

TheEpicMap

I can play games at a consistent 60+ fps with a 60 hertz monitor.

But it never looks like 60 fps live streams/videos,

It doesn't look as smooth when I play 60 fps.

Any one know why this is?

PS: my exact monitor is on my profile.

No my friend, that is when we are talking about movies shot at 24fps on video cameras

There is no added motion blur on a 30fps youtube video running at 30fps, the video plays back exactly how it is recorded,

@TheEpicMap

the reason it is so smooth is that the video is forced to run at a fixed frame rate, where as when you are playing the game framrate is fluctuating up and down by a few fps each way

Even running the game at 60fps you will get drops each way, it might drop to 55 during a busy scene, or jump to 65 when notihng is happening

If you turn on V-Sync you introduce latency which makes the game feel more sluggish and unresponsive

Yes like I said in movies shot with video cameras it's 24*3. On youtube the video can have motion blur if the game toggled to use it.

Yeah but if the OP is playing a game without motion blur, and records it, the playback will always look smoother

When you watch a video the game is running at exactly 30fps, and runs in time with the monitor so that it will always draw a frame in time with the monitors refresh rate

This just does not happen in a game unless you use G-Sync/Freesync
