Ram Compatibility

I am purchasing new RAM sticks after my old ones are dead. My CPU and motherboard states that it only supports up to 1600 MHz. Will it be OK to use 1865 MHz RAM with my setup? Also, 1600 MHz RAM is more expensive than 1866 MHz RAM for some reason.

Yes, it will work fine, but it will only run at 1600MHz.

Ok, I'm fine with that.

Honestly it will probably run at 1866, but better question, what RAM did you have before? Most ram is lifetime guaranteed. Unless you broke them, they can probably be RMAed and you can get replacements for free.
