i dont like the look of either of them.

You should probably prioritise performance over looks, but probably the best looking one with great performance would be the Dark Rock Pro 3

the cryorig r1 ultimate is apparently really good performing as well as having nice looks

nah, not a huge fan of their ugly procucts.

they look bad as well lol. Noctua aren't the only good manufacturer that has good cpu cooling options.

They're quiet, and very well performing. They're also pretty cheap(ish). They sell the NH-D14 for around £65, and I've sorta grown to like their looks :S

They are a new company but the people that run it have decades of experience in the industry.
