Gaming Build for 3 4K Monitors

Hey,

I'm planning on getting 3 4k monitors for gaming but I obviously need a PC that will run it all. I am not planning on gaming all 3 but gaming on a single one and maybe having a browser / teamspeak / skype open on the other monitors. I mainly play FPS and racing games so I need something powerful enough to run these games at playable FPS.

I wnt to keep my budget low as possible but if I absolutely have to, I am willing to spend £2500 (GBP) exluding the monitors that is.

I don't need an OS.

I've been out of the scene since my build (a year ago) so I've really got no idea what's good / not good.

Cheers

I'd suggest maybe 1 4K monitor and 2 1440P or 1080P monitors, as opposed to a triple setup 4K setup, because the much higher resolution isn't going to be much of a deciding factor when browsing and skyping.

Maybe dual 290x and a 4790k?

That or SLI 780Ti's.

Hmm, sounds like a decent idea. Might as well do a 4k down the middle and 2 IPS 1440p's on the sides.

You would need three way or even four way sli/crossfire to run that. There must be a build log if you do do this.

Yeah, that's what I would go with.

lol why half the cost into storage

Well, 6tb in ssd storage would be your main drives. Two of the 3tb drives would back up the 6tb's of sad storage. Then you have two 3tb drives left. You use one of them to store the crap you don't care about, and the last drive is used to backup all the crap you don't care about.

Can't quite get it under budget. That is mostly because of the oversize psu to allow for a second gpu which I suspect would be needed for optimal gameplay.

That cpu is a waste on a gaming rig. It would be a better choice sticking with an i7 4790K. The same goes for the 900D, unless you are doing a custom loop in which case I would suggest the Phanteks Primo/Luxe.

Hi

As you are UK based I would suggest making a thread over at Overclockers UK as well.  I will put a spec together on pcpartpicker though as well when i get chance.

I recommend 2 ASUS 27" 1440p for the sides and 1 ASUS 28" 4K for the middle. Also you could go 290X's.
