1st time build need review

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

I'd probably spend more money on a motherboard that has built in wireless AC instead of a wireless N card.

You can likely get away with 8gb of RAM, or a cheaper set of 16gb.

If you don't upgrade often an i7 might make more sense, but for todays games you can get away with an i5.

I'd go with at least a 250gb SSD, judging your budget I'd bump it up to a 500gb at least.

You don't need a 850w power supply.

Any particular reason you went with that monitor?

Is this a good build. I plan to use it for gaming, web browsing, and occasionally large spreadsheets. I am only using 1 monitor but may upgrade to 2 monitors.Going for a red/black build.

Also will not go with AMD CPU or GPU, yes i'm biased but i just have better experience with Intel and NVIDIA respectively. I am using an AMD GPU laptop right now though.

Okay, I don't plan to upgrade much. I chose that monitor because i have very good experience with ASUS and i wanted a 1440p monitor that was relativley small.

I will not do AMD GPU. I really like the case. And have very bad luck with Barracuda HDDs.

If budget isn't a huge concern and you upgrade computers every few years, I'd go with the i7. It's really not a great deal more.

The Asus isn't a 1440p monitor, it's a 1200p monitor. Much fewer pixels. 1440p monitors really only come in the 27" flavor.

Other than that it looks like a nice build.

Why will you not do amd GPU, 2 290s will be better than a single 780Ti
