Will a FX 8320 @ 4.4Ghz bottleneck Watch Dogs?

Pls gib answer. I want trench coat physics and puddle particles. Also want farther draw distance than consoles.

This kills the Fx 8320.

9370 is the same as 8320 @ 4,4Ghz....

seems like watchdogs is badly optimised at the moment then if its only using 1 core.
it doesnt look to be any more demanding than bioshock infinate, i.e a core 2 duo can play it.

Not really, look again. The 8350 didnt bottleneck a single 7970 but it just didnt take any advantage of a 2nd 7970. Usually you shouldn't add a 2nd if you can't reach 90% gpu loads atleast but lets say you get consistently 99% and you add a 2nd card and you still see 50/50% max well yeah you'd be taken for a joke.

Well seeing these game devs are full of @#%^ and claimed you needed a I7 on Thief, and then a I3 Ivy Bridge beat out a stock 8350...

 

You are fine. 1) it is a RPG not a MMO or multiplayer shooter or RTS. 2) Game devs sell BS recommended specs to promote consoles. Half the time these recommendations might as well be paid advertisements. These same clowns claimed we needed 6 gigs of ram a month ago 3) If it is poorly optimized it is going to be average on everything and core size won't matter. See AC Black Flag. Ubisoft tanked that titles PC performance and then ran their mouth trying to defend it, when people showed the optimization was laughable.  3) Consoles are locked to 6 cores with 2 for the OS. 4) This game is on the flippin Xbox 360/PS3, so the idea I need an I7 is even more laughable.

 

I have their BS recommended I7 4770k and if it truly uses all 8 threads, I expect slightly higher cpu usage then Tomb Raider...so yeah about 1 degree above idle temps. Also if it is truly 8 thread I expect like 1-2 fps difference between 2.5ghz and 4.5ghz like all 8 thread titles with optimization worth a damn on single player games...

 

Short answer? If they purposely tank optimization? It is going to have frame drops on anything and everything. We will see if Ubisoft extends the olive branch or keeps up their shenanigans.
