Changing my Case, Motherboard and Cpu

Hello

 

In the last few weeks i have discovered that i will be moving my PC between two places every two weeks, at the moment in my rig i have a Intel i5 3570k, a Asus p8z77-v LK which is an ATX board, a Cooler master hyper 212 evo and a Cooler master HAF 912 case which is mid tower. And i want to make my system more portable, so i have been think of getting a Bitfenix prodigy mini ITX case. And a Asus Z87I-PRO mini ITX motheboard, a Intel i7 4770k because i have ended up doing a lot of rendering and live streaming on my PC and a i7 will help with that. And to cool the i7 i want to get a corsair h100i because an air cooler like my hyper 212 evo, will not work so well in a very small mini ITX case like the Bitfenix prodigy. So the main question here is how much could i sell my old Intel i5 3570k and Asus p8z77-v LK for in NZ.

What are you rendering?

The Prodigy is not a small itx case.. It's one of the biggest ones as big as some matx cases and is twice as big as some other itx cases.

The Hyper 212 is fine inside a prodigy.

The prodigy is actually quite large....

I will be rendering vidoes in sony vegas pro 12 and live streaming games like Battlefield 4 to twitch tv, about the size of the prodigy. I have done a build in it before and found to size to be really good. Also sorry i am still learning the sub forums.

You should be using your gpu to accelerate rendering and the cpu shouldn't make much of a difference. Why not just go matx in that case?

Ok, i am mosty concerned about when i move the prodigy. And its on its side there will be a lot of force on the coolers connection to the motherboard.

I have never tryed using the GPU in rendering, the prodigy only takes mini ITX boards. Not mATX.

..and? The Prodigy is as big as other matx cases. The Prodigy M is quite the literal example of this.

The motherboard on the prodigy sits flat.

There will be no stress on the connection between the cpu and cooler as its just sitting there.

If you are dead set on a prodigy, its a very good case and is nice for moving around (the handles/feet).

Thats ture when it is setting the right way up, but when i put it on its side in a suitcase it will put force on that connection.

It is quite big, do you have any recommendations for a small mini ITX case which can take a long video card.

The hyper 212 isn't exactly that heavy.

Can you even fit a prodigy in a suitcase? (that must be a fat suitcase)

In that case then yes stress will be put on the connection if the suitcase is being tossed around....along with the GPU....and the hard drives.

I'm going with the Fractal Design Node 304, ASUS Maximus VI Impact, and 4770k for my new mini itx build if ya wana copy me :) As others have said the prodigy is big, although it does have handles, but you could just put handles on a smaller case...

It is a huge suitcase! i would be the only one handling the suitcase. And i would remove the GPU and hard drives.

Also take a look at CM elite 130 and the hadron air.

No. it only fits up to 95mm with the optical drive installed and 145mm without.

Thanks for that, i am all most set on buying the 304. But it says your PSU has to be under 160mm to fit a big video card. I have the the seasonic M12-II 650w and its spot on 160mm, so it should fit but it will be very close. By the way my video card is 275mm long.
