GTX 780 Ti Classified SLI Temperatures

I have an odd issue going on. My primary card quickly raises up to 90C when under 99% load. If I switch the cards around, the temps reverse. (The card that was previously secondary gets hot when moved to primary.) - The secondary card rarely ever breaks 70C, and if I set the fans to 100%, the primary card sits at around 80C. I've run plenty of graphics card in the past fine in this rig, including dual 480s, tri-680s, tri-Titans, and multiple ACX coolers.

I've tried switching the cards around (as mentioned), turning the primary PCIe lane off on the board, re-applying the TIM, re-installing drivers, a fresh Windows installation, a BIOS reset, and a different PSU. Just about the only thing I haven't tried is another motherboard.

Another thing I've noticed is that the primary card's clocks lower to around 900MHz, and the load is a lot less than the secondary card's when 99% usage isn't required. Idle temps are fine.

As you can see, the system is putting far more load on the secondary card at 63% usage, 1150MHz, vs 54%, 876MHz.

But I've used other 780 Ti's in my rig without any issues. It's just the Classified model that's giving me problems.

Gotcha.  ;)

Yes, I always keep my drivers up to date.

As I said in my original post, I've even tried a fresh installation of Windows.

have you over clocked your gpus at all? you can try re setting your cpu and gpus to stock clock and seeing if that will help, i have had issues where the cpu was oc'ed and i was causing my gpu to mess up

Try to undervolt the hot card. See if the tempatures go down with it. I see that you allready have the hot card undervolted.

My best bet would be to contact EVGA. They are pretty awesome with support.

in SLi  GPU2 is the main display card. So the bulk of the load goes onto it.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III
