my motherboard i plan to upgrade to shows that it needs an extra 4 pin eps power besides just the normal 8 pin and was wondering if the cable in the link would work with my tx650m and provide the extra 4 pin.the tx650m is listed under the COMPATIBILITY list.

Like others have said, odds are the motherboard will work without issue with just the 8-pin.  But if you want to buy an additional cable, that's exactly the one you want.

In most of cases extra pins are for LN2 overclockers. They are not necessary. I mean, 8 pin can provide ~300W on constant load, not sure if you are going to push the CPU that far. If I were you, I would check if Buildzoid has reviewed that motherboard. VRM heatsinks look terribly useless.

The extra 4-pin ATX connection is optional.

The 8-pin EPS is required.

The extra 4-pin is only really required if you are pushing extreme level overclocks -- won't need it with typical air or water cooling

Additionally, that motherboard's VRM would overheating before you would need the power from the 4-pin ATX.
