Welp, just checked the price and saw that the z390 Gaming X is cheaper than the z370 Extreme4, looks better and has better vrms, I am going to go for it.

Cheers lads.

Heya,

I'm currently choosing a motherboard for my now-in-transit 8700k and I'm wondering whether I should get a z370 or a z390 board when they are at the same price (ex. Extreme4 is the same price as the z390 Gaming X), but am not sure which one I should pick. Any recommendations with the max price being the Extreme4 and lower prices appreciated?

literally does not matter. it's basically down to looks, additional features (back ports etc) and if you plan on upgrading to a 9th gen at any point since 10th gen could be on a completely different chipset

Only go for Z390 if you need USB gen 3.1 ports, that's really the only distinguishable difference from Z370.
