Should I buy this 1080?

So, I found a person who is selling an MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X for 350 euros. It was used for mining for about a year, and he set it up so that the card runs at 70% load whilst mining. The card has 2 years of warranty. Should I buy it? ATM I have a GT 610.

Personally I wouldn't buy a card that has been used for mining, yeah they say it has been set up to run at 70% but they might be lying, also running 24/7 even at 70% isn't going to be good for the card.

Also I am pretty sure warranty's are void if the card is used for mining.

If you have the system to go with it, it should be fine.

Personally i would've no problem buying this card if the price is good for you where you at...especially if you can test it or confirm in some ways that it's in working condition...if it works now it'll likely work for a long time.

running 24/7 is actually less damageable than a card that is working on and off...heat cycling in electrical components is what kill electronics, not prolonged use.

Also, mining doesnt void warranty...how would they go about knowing what you did with the card in the first place? ?

In the US there are 2070s (they aren't selling) for 475-500usd new which is 10% faster than the 1080, whether the "savings" is worth it being a used msi card used for mining is your call (if the card is like 450 new nobody's gonna buy it for 400 euros, 350 is at most fair). I'd personally recommend buying it only if there's nothing close to an alternative in your area.
