I mean, the 1070 is the faster card. So pick that unless for other reasons such a freesync or wanting to sped less money

Discussing or arguing is ok and even encouraged, but aggressiveness, condescending or patronizing tone and insults will never be tolerated. If you don<t agree with someone, then formulate your argument in a mature, respectful and responsible manner.

If you get angry and can't formulate a reply without being respectful, then don't reply and move along.

gtx 1070, rx 590 competes with the gtx 1060, so the 1070 is faster.
but it all depends on the pricing and your needs

Current build: Ryzen 7 1700x, asus prime x370-pro, 16gb gskill trident z rgb, asus rog strix gtx 1070 ti, corsair rm650x, nzxt s340 elite, samsung 840 pro 256gb, 1.5tb hdd.

it depends.

Do you have freesync monitors or an xbox 1 s or X?

Or do u have a g sync setup?

If you have non get the 590. G sync is shit, u have to pay more when a panel has it thats bullshit. With freesync u pay nothing extra saving u hundreds of dollars on monitors. Thats a major reason I stick with AMD cards. Ohh and I don't give a shit about any gaming above 144hz at 1080p.

You expect me to reply then you'd best QUOTE me so I can........thanks

1070 is a bit faster to my knowledge. It really depends on the price and if you want free sync

Actually the rx 590 sits between the gtx 1060 6GB and the gtx 1070.

1070 is a bit faster but should also be a bit more expencive. Also freesync is a bonus on the rx 590.

Ya freesync is the dealbreaker we know Nvidia cards are faster no once cares about that. What ppl care about is the support the ecosystem will give them. And for me and most AMD card owners they go with AMD because its the best value option.

Also I hate the whole G sync bullshit, seriously what the fuck why can't Nvidia stop bending the customer over even when their buying a damn monitor something they DON'T sell but because Nvidia holds a monopoly over the market now the manufacturer has to bend over for Nvidia as well. Guess AMD card users also have the whole I hate greedy cuck companies as Nvidia is.

Well in my local store, its only a 30 dollar price difference. Thanks for all the comments, but i'll probably go with the 1070. I don't have a freesync monitor either.

im waiting to see someone pair the 590 with Mac OS to see how it runs as a hackintosh since you need metal support and AMD is the only real option. but for Windows I'm still a Nvidia guy and run a 1050ti in my personal rig.

Yeah if it's that small of a difference go with a 1070 no point on going with the 590 in your situation which we don't know the full story on tho cuz you haven't told us about your current setup

Your build is literally perfect for a AMD card, objectively it makes sense to get a RX 580 8gb for like 220 and wait for AMD to refresh the Vega series so u can get a Vega 10 card once the new ones drop. And then continue doing this. High end gaming just isn't ready for ppl with out thousands of dollars to burn on keeping the latest Nvidia overpriced cards.

Just the markets realistic situation now.

1070  is around 30-40% faster than RX 590. If you can afford it, I'd take that.

@GoldenLag @Zeitec  I found a 1070 for 300. It's refurb though. It's from microcenter and they have 90 day full returns. Good idea or nah? https://www.microcenter.com/product/479383/founders-edition-geforce-gtx-1070-single-fan-8gb-gddr5-pcie-video-card-refurbished

I personally wouldn't pay $300 for a used blower style 1070 when you can get a new dual fan 1070 for $340 after $20 rebate, or $360 ignoring the rebate.

Edit: As a matter of fact, I'd REALLY try to scrounge up the extra money for this 1070ti that's only $20 more given the fact that it's about 15-20% faster for the price of a couple of pizzas.
