whats wrong with my backplate

I bought this card of eBay and when i got it, the backplate was gold-ish silver with black fingerprints (backplate needs to be black). Can't figure out what it could be. Does anyone have an idea what could it be or if u had a similar problem? (tried to clean it, did not work)

It looks really dusty, have you scrubbed it?

Just looks like caked on dust, have you tried removing the backplate and giving it a clean with a cloth?

Tried to clean it with a damp cloth nothing changed

Might need to try isopropyl/rubbing alcohol but be careful not to scrub too hard near the stickers.

it almost looks to me that those are fingerprints rubbed into the paint and the paint got smudged off. Try @Blademaster91's suggestion though

That backplate only comes in Black.  Since its anodized aluminum typically, I would think a metric ton of heat was the cause.

 

I haven't anodized aluminum in 15+ years.  But this makes me thing of 2 things - that's a miners card that was stacked VERY close to other hot cards.  Or they used Greased Lightning and a Brush to clean that bracket and card up before selling it, which caused what you are seeing.

Thanks, but if it was used for mining, does it mean it's not as good or really worn out (don't have my setup delivered yet so can't test it RN). Wait if they would of used Greased Lightning and a brush, wouldn't it have removed the stickers as well?
