Are SSD's Necessary For Just Gaming?

SSDs are always good but i really never notice any improvements besides loading times. 

 

Im really curious if it affects anything besides loading times and boot times. ?

Basically no other benefits than load times, if you have a SSD with space on it i'd install the most played games on there. Otherwise ingame it's basically the same

It's a very big difference with windows and program startup though so if you have the budget or already own a SSD get your windows on there

Only games where it really helps are the open worlds, where a slow load can cause stuttering and pop-up.

Other than that, it's nice but hardlyt necessary.

It doesn't have to be defragged, it's smaller, and you move it while it's on, and more things can utilize the disk before things slow down

SSD's don't do much of anything for gaming, but they are 100% a requirement for a boot drive on Windows 10, Windows 10 is dog shit on an HDD, I started my Windows 10 install on an overclocked 6700k running at 4.5 Ghz and that thing was hammering the boot HDD with at or very near 100% disk utilization in the task manager rendering the 6700k slower then a damn AMD FX6300 running windows 7 on an HDD.

no it does only affect loading and boot times so for most games an SSD is completely useless.

 

personally i have 3 SSD´s installed right now, one as a boot drive and for programs and two that i use for other programs as well as for games with very long loading times.
