What 1080 TI is better

Daddy Dave

Should I get the Gamer X GTX 1080 TI right now ? Or should I wait and get the Asus GTX 1080 TI ROG Strix.  Both of these parts are used but someone offered to give me 500$ for the Gamer X. What sucks about the Gamer is that it’s red so i am going to have to take it apart and change the color of the front thing. This is my build.

Should I change anything or get anything used ? Like my mono or anything ? If you do want to change anything make sure it is low key popular so I can find a tutorial on YouTube easily. If it isn’t it’s ok

Ok I saw both the 1400 and 1700 rigs.  My suggestion to you is get a M.2 instead of a SSD and also 800 bucks for a 1080 Ti at this moment is way too much money.  Stick with the 2070 GTX its a really good bang for the buck.

Also I don't know much about your motherboard, but if you plan on overclocking that 3.2Ghz...... I would strongly suggest you buy a 150 to 200 dollar regular sized mobo.  micro atx is going to come back and haunt you, because one day youll get some card,,, a sound card or a adapter whatever... and youll see you don't have enough PCIe slots.  I understand your a noob, but your building this system once, to have for years to come.  Do it right, do it justice.

So has anyone figured out what cause the view count to jump to 12 million?  Was it the threads being merged causing a bug?

Wow much better man.  I looked over everything.  Sexy build.  Im glad you decided to go with Noctua as your CPU cooler as you can overclock now.  Also no need for the fan or fans to run at full speed and make a jet noise... They are effective at low rpm, so make sure you adjust that fan speed or else its going to get loud.  One thing I would recommend is grab a M.2 instead of SSD.  Also IMO I believe having a hard drive in a 2018 rig is a cardinal sin.  Also what is your backup source ?  I would recommend a external LaCie hard drive usb 3.0.  I want to say go with a M.2 but your not going to see a real world difference compared with the 860 Evo.  So stick with the Evo.  Amazing build, you have my stamp of approval.  OH and video card grab a ASUS 1080 GTX ,or 1070.  :)

^^^ Only other thing I'd change is getting an NH-D15S instead of the D15. Same cooler, just offset slightly so it doesn't interfere with the top PCIe slot and has better RAM compatibility.

Yep, just offset to one side slightly so when you mount it it doesn't block the top PCIe slot on some mobos.
