High pagefile usage!

Hi, 

 

I recently noticed that my pc is consuming 15GB of pagefile or virtual memory, isnt too much? I have 16GB of ram and only around 6-9GB is used so i have plenty to spare. 

 

I have 8x2 ram, all SSD, no HDD

Pagefile is set to system, didnt change anything? 

 

But is this normal?

That doesn't mean it's "using" it, just that it's allocated.

 

Manually set it to a Hard Drive (Not solid state), probably 4GB to be safe, and forget the rest.

Windows will also copy the ram to the page files to allow paging to be faster and allow hibernation to be much faster, don't worry about it unless there is a performance problem.

It's just Windows cache'ing stuff to improve speed, you can force it to a smaller size if you'd like but that shouldn't really matter that much.

is it actually affecting your performance? it's pretty normal for windows to use the pagefile a lot, especially if you havent rebooted for an extended amount of time.
