What power supply should I get ?

Hi !

So, I'll soon upgrade to my GPU, so I'll of course have to upgrade the 275W Dell PSU i'm using.

I think a 500W PSU sould be enough, but I'm not sure, I read sooo many things, like I should get at least 80+ Bronze, or that I didn't mattered and it's most important to look for the 12V continuous power, ect..

I'm really lost to be honest.

So, here's the question, what power supply should I get for under 80€ (I think that should be a good enough budget)

For this PC:

Core i5 3570@3.4GHz (may upgrade later to a i7 3770)

MSI Aero ITX GTX 1060 6GB

2 SSD+1 HDD

I've seen few models that I'd like to know if they are decent, I've read that I should avoid Cooler Master budget PSU. (I know these are 600W ones, but it's because they're somehow cheaper than their 500W counterparts on the site I'm ordering from, and I'm pretty sure I'll use that power supply when getting a new rig in few years)

You should check out the PSU tier list on the forum in Cases and Power Supplies and get something from the tier 2 or tier 1 list

Those PSU's aren't great, If you are looking at a budget PSU get the Corsair CXM 450W, it will be enough for your system and is a better option then what you have selected. A cheap PSU can fail prematurely and take other components with it. Also, efficiency does not equal quality, just because a PSU is 80+ gold rated or higher does not mean it is made with quality components.

Thanks for the replies !

I think I'll follow your advice and get a CX450M, it's 55€, so that's perfect, I'll throw a 4GB stick at it to also upgrade to 16GB, I think I'll be fine for 1080p high/ultra gaming !

No problem! It is a good budget option that is decent quality.
