Yeah all three are vetted.

I always use humble bundle or get games in a Steam sale.

Computer engineering grad student, cybersecurity researcher, and hobbyist embedded systems developer

 

Daily Driver:

They are a gray market site like G2A, which i have extensively written about.

 

Devs literally ask people to pirate their games rather than buy from gray market sites like G2A etc. because it financially harms the devs via chargebacks.

 

Gray market sites like G2A are also where credit card theives go to launder their money basically. This is why G2A(which is run by two Polish guys) is hosted out of Hong Kong, to keep western authorities from shutting them down.

 

Best bet for cheap games is to buy them on Steam sales or Humble Bundle.

The devs LOSE money for purchases made through G2A because the credit card chargebacks are for the full price of the key, which is purchased through a legitimate marketplace, then dumped on G2A so the carder can cash out and launder their money.

 

So no, the devs lose money for each game sold on G2A. Thats why the devs ask you to pirate instead of using G2A. I edited my earlier post to include an article about it.

 

Or just google g2a money laundering chargebacks. Youll find plenty of investigations into it. People have traced keys bought with stolen cards.

 

Game devs should really deactivate all the keys purchased like this, but big studios often eat the losses rather than piss off ignorant consumers who say "but i paid money for it!"

 

Then they bitch and complain of the key they bought which was purchased with a stolen credit card gets deactivated like they are entitled to keep it.

 

Paying $100 for a stolen Rolex doesnt make it a legitimate purchase and someone is getting hurt in the transaction. Same thing with G2A. When stolen property gets seized by the cops, its no different than the game studio cancelling the keys.

 

Idk how people can be naïve enough to think "hmmm some guy just bought 1000 copies of a $60 game and now hes selling them for $20 on G2A" and not realize whats going on. No one takes thousands of dollars in financial losses to provide people with cheap keys altruistically. Its because theyre purchasing at full price with STOLEN CREDIT CARDS in order to extract cash and launder it.

 

The devs dont get the money. Parasites like G2A skim a profit off the illicit transaction and the carder keeps his laundered money. They only people who win are the credit card thieves and G2A. The fools who buy off G2A end up hurting the people who make the games they play because they're too cheap to buy it legitimately, so theyre actually hurting themselves even if theyre too ignorant to understand why.

 

Why else would devs literally ask you to pirate a game instead? Because at least piracy doesnt cost them the full price of the game in a chargeback like G2A does.

Dam I def wont use G2A, I only ever used them a few times but wont anymore, I didnt know they were THAT bad. Ill stick to greenman who gets their keys legit through the actual company. At least thats what they say.
