Question about Kinguin

DVA

Hi all, if I choose to purchase something on Kinguin and decide not to purchase their buyer protection. If the product does not work as intended, is that it? Is it best to purchase the buyer protection?

Just stay away from Kinguin and G2A. They're scummy grey markets.

But yeah, thats basically it. That and the "protection" from fraud. You should never have to buy insurance when getting a steam game.

Stick to Fanatical, GMG, Indie gala etc.

I'd just avoid Kinguin all together, I bought a Win 10 key off there a couple years ago and the next day someone was trying to take additional money out of my paypal.

I hear ya, I've never used either of those so I was very curious. My brother uses them and has had a good experience with them, though I know it's not all totally legal..

Thanks, haven't used those sites.

Those sites are fantastic and have great customer service. And perfectly legal, to note

What if the seller send me an invalid license key, can I get a replacement or refund for it? How long will it take for me to get a replacement or refund if I purchase it using credit/debit and paypal?

Fanatical doesn't host sellers like g2a does, they're their own marketplace.

If a key doesn't work or something then they usually get back to you within 24 hours.

Oh.......That is more safer than G2A and Kinguin.

I have always found Kinguin (and G2A and similar sites..) to be quite sketchy.

This thread here didn't help their case in my eyes either:

To be fair, GMG has had their share of shady days. That being, if we are shaming every company ever for their past mistakes. GMG was accused of selling illegally acquired Pitcher 3 keys by CDPR themselves.

Oh yeah that's totally true. Though that was in the long past and there hasn't been an issue since

Yeah, I'm just bringing it up just like others do when they shame Kingston SSDs or others who may have at some point done some mistake 5+ years ago.
