What the hell is this?

Long story short, I had to rent an apartment through Airbnb for a week. Found this weird-looking thing taped to the wall. I'm no paranoiac, but this piece of plastic kind of creeps me out. The owner seems to be really into audio stuff. There are like 15 speakers throughout the flat. So what could it be?

If you're so concerned, just unplug it.

Could be a piezo-electric or resonance speaker which uses the wall/glass/whatever that is fixed to, for resonance, as something to amplify the effect.

Location is really weird for a speaker and it for sure doesn't look like one atleast because of the size. What kind of sound would such a tiny thing produce? .-.

Meh. Not sayin he's a spy, but you can't be too careful with an apartment on airbnb. It aint as bad as burger king foot lettuce but there still are plenty of cool stories from unlucky tenants.

My guess is by the looks on the second picture that, it's a antenna for radio.

I agree, the cable/connector looks kind of similar to the one the antenna we use for our tv when we're on the camping site...

I'm also going to jump on the antenna bandwagon. Looks like there's a hole in it which would lead me to assume it's a copper coil.
